ESB Creative TechFest is an annual celebration. It is open to young people from ages 8 to 18. Any youth worker or teacher that has taken part in the TechSpace Programme is eligible to take part with their youth group or class.

ESB Creative TechFest 2020 Celebrations

The live event was broadcast on Youtube and accessible from the homes, youth clubs, or schools of young TechSpacers across the country. Over 150 projects were submitted in 2020. As well as announcing over 20 award winners on the day, there were also youth performances and inspiring tech talks from Daithí Ó Sé, Chris is Ainm Dom, and Cairde. 

Young People’s creative technology projects from TechSpacers across Ireland were showcased in a National TechSpace Virtual Reality Gallery.

Accessible from your phone or home device, but enhanced by your ESB Creative Tech Fest Virtual Reality Headset sent straight to your home,  you could walk around view other projects, and be part of a youth exhibition with a difference!

TechSpace Monthly Winners this year are being recognized for their outstanding work – Take a look at some of the past winning TechSpace projects and people! From a rap about Anxiety to a coding project about being on the autistic spectrum… young people have a creative voice and they are using technology to showcase it!

There was inspirational competition entries last October and it was overwhelming to see the work and commitment of both TechSpace Educators and young people. Lockdown 2020 affected us all, it was truly amazing to see so many creative submissions from TechSpacers across Ireland working from home with support from their youth workers and teachers.

TechSpace Sustainability Superhero

An award to showcase Climate Action!

 The leadership that young people from across the Ireland have shown for action on the Global Sustainability Goals this year is amazing!, The ESB Creative Tech Fest will be celebrating any project that has used technology to express their ideas and views on this topic. Submit your projects and be recognised for the superhero you are!

The ESB TechSpacer of the year! Innovation in the making !

This year we put an open call out to all TechSpace Educators to submit an application form for a young TechSpacer within their group to win 2021’s TechSpacer of the Year Award! If you are working with a young person that has inspired you make sure you keep and eye out for this award category!

TechSpace Digital Creativity Award Categories

Are you an Animator? Film-Maker? Photographer? A Designer? Musician? A Broadcaster?

Get closer to the microphone, find your love of photography, get creative with those smartphones, make your latest song or beat stand-out on screen or showcase what you can do with creative softwares! In ESB Creative Tech Fest’s Digital Creativity Awards there is opportunity for everyone to create, invent and inspire! 

Inspiring award winners will be announced in the following catagories  –  Sound Production Award, Photography  Award, Short Film Award, Sound Production Award, Photography  Award, Short Film Award, Best Music Video, Best Design 

ESB STEAM Award Categories

Are you a maker? An inventor ? An engineer? An experimenter? A problem solver?

From soldering circuitry to science experiments there are no limits to things  you can create for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Award, Maths) Award category! Are you interested in tackling global or local sustainablity issues? This category acknowledges projects that are focused on economic, environmental, and social sustainability solutions or ideas! 

There will be amazing awards an prizes available for ESB Cretaive Tech Fest under the following categories – Best STEAM award, Sustainable STEAM project, ESB Energy for Generations Award and the  Engineer of the Imagination Award
